Silva Combination Earned The Winner For Manchester City

Antonio Conte set up his Chelsea side to defend at Manchester City on Sunday and had no one to blame as the Premier League holders lost 1-0.

Making barely a dent on the match, the London club held out for the first half and yet let Bernardo Silva ghost in at the back post to convert David Silva’s cross just 34 seconds into the second period.

Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero worked hard to break down a stubborn Chelsea defence for a second but came up with nothing, a theme which hardly mattered as the visitors barely worried the Etihad Stadium crowd.

Arguably their best chance came via Victor Moses as they forged a counter around the hour mark, the Nigerian winger skying his chance to lay a simple ball across the six-yard box for Chelsea’s frustrated attackers to sum up a disappointing trip north for the fifth-placed Blues.
